Family time: Bingo!

It’s been a while since I played bingo. The game consists of marking numbers on a sheet of paper—either by circling them, crossing them out with an X, or simply marking them—according to the numbers that the caller randomly picks from a bowl. My aunt was the one who “called out the numbers,” as we say locally. It’s fun, although it takes quite a long time since the whole game consists of six rounds to complete one session.

This was the first time my whole family had played together. It was my cousin’s birthday, and my aunt organized a small gathering where one of the activities was bingo. Each family had to bring something as a prize, so there were many different gifts. In our case, we brought soup plates and a delicious tangerine cake (made by me, obviously). It was really tasty because I baked an extra one for us too.

The bingo started, and right away, shouts of “Bingo!” and “Move the balls properly!” filled the room. Sometimes, two people shout “Bingo!” at the same time, and both are correct, but usually there is only one prize. In this case, the way to break the tie was through a target-shooting challenge.

I competed against my mom, and I won because I hit right in the middle. It was a ten! I was genuinely shocked, haha, since my aim is usually not very good at all.

To sum up, it was a lovely afternoon. My other aunt ended up winning my cake, and we won several prizes as well: a citrus juicer, a thermal lunch bag, skincare masks, and a tiny lamp. I really enjoyed this birthday celebration
Look at that food styling!
