Painted Palette Knife Cake |
That's the name of the technique I learned today at my first pastry workshop. It is actually done with the help of these tools, which are the ones used for painting.
I booked my spot last week after seeing an Instagram ad while scrolling through stories. I checked the chef's account and liked her work, so I ended up signing up.
Our usual driver taxi picked me up to take me to the La Joya neighborhood. When we arrived (thanks to our trusty GPS), the chef kindly welcomed me into her home, which is also her cake studio. Another young girl was already there. The chef even gave us Snickers as a snack!
More participants arrived, and we started at 10 AM sharp.
The day was incredible and packed with knowledge—I captured the highlights in my latest reel. Check it out here!
I got home at 7 PM. The party for my mom’s master’s degree celebration had already ended, but I still took photos with my family.
And the cake? Of course I was in charge of it!
I made a tres leches cake: two layers of sponge cake (which turned out divine), soaked in tres leches mix, filled with chocolate fudge, and covered with Masscream. The finishing touch? Cherries on top with their stems still attached—I’d bought them some days ago, and they made the cake look so elegant.
