One Day, Two Big Moments: Chocolate, and My Mom’s Master’s Degree
Welcome to another day!
This one, in particular, is a special day—important for my mom and meaningful for our whole family.
Ladies and gentlemen… today, my mom officially becomes a Master! She’s a teacher, and over the past year, she worked incredibly hard to complete her program.
The ceremony starts at 11:30 a.m. at the university campus, and my dad and sister are attending. As for me, I’ll be there by 12:40—once I leave the bakery.
But let’s rewind to the beginning of the day (because we’re going in chronological order 😄).
I’d been thinking about something for a while 🤔. My internship is almost over, and I hadn’t spent any time in the chocolate room or chocolate section. I’m not sure why, but I was a bit nervous about asking. Still, that inner voice telling me I wanted to go was my wake-up call—and I’m glad I listened.
It turned out to be easy! At 8:00 a.m. today, I finally made it to the chocolate room.🍫
Of course, I’d been inside before—but just briefly, to grab decorations for the tarts. It was always a quick in-and-out. The room has its own vibe: it’s cold, has its own music, scent, sink, trash can, AC, tools… everything. It is quieter, but full of technique. There are three large tables and tons of molds. I've been told it was not as exciting as outside, and it’s true, but in a good way. It’s quieter, but full of technique.
Four people work in there, and the boss gave me my first task:
Joining Easter eggs.
Each egg was filled with a little toy, two chocolate eggs, and one little bunny-shaped chocolate.
When I finished the first batch, I thought I was done. How naive. There was another container full of eggs—but in different color! So yeah… I spent my whole shift gluing Easter eggs.
I marked my departure time at 12:20, rushing to change in the dressing room. Then, I headed out, got in a taxi, and in about 10 minutes, I was at the University. The ceremony had already ended, and my family was waiting for me at a café so we could go have lunch together. But first… photos with the Master! 📸🎓
We went to a restaurant and ordered a parrillada and a big jar of lemon juice. It was delicious!
After lunch, we headed home.
I rested for a while before going to the grocery store to buy some ingredients I was missing for the cake I'm making for tomorrow—the family party!
Tomorrow’s going to be amazing, and not just because of the party
Pdta: Estoy muy orgullosa de mi mamá, ¡y también de mi hermana y de mí por haberla ayudado en el proceso!
Pdta: Hoy fue el boom de la generación de imágenes con estilo del estudio Ghibli.
