My second cheque

Since my sister has classes, I’ve been the one going to the bank to make payments. Luckily, there’s a place nearby that offers banking services, so I don’t need to go to an actual bank.

Yesterday, after finishing my errands, I took the opportunity to stop by the grocery store and buy something for tomorrow’s lunch. I ended up choosing a pack of six wings, already seasoned with barbecue sauce.

While I was at the checkout, I ran into my dear friend Bianka. It was just a quick hug and a hello-goodbye moment. I’ve known her since high school. We don’t see each other often, but I’ll always consider her a friend.

So today, Thursday, that was our lunch—served with cucumber and tomato salad (again!) on our second day alone.

In the afternoon, my sister drove me to the bakery because I had to pick up my internship certificate and my paycheck. I would’ve done it on Monday, but the head of Human Resources was on leave until Thursday.

We had agreed on three checks, but the last one hadn’t been signed yet—it’ll be ready next week.

The funny thing was the weather. It’s been pouring for days, but today the sun was shining, so we planned to go to the bakery around 2:30. Of course, the moment we got there, it started raining again.

I stayed in the Human Resources office while the woman typed out my certificate. When I left, it was pouring. I ran to the car, and the rain got even worse. My sister is such a badass—she drove us through it like a pro.

That rainstorm lasted about 10 minutes, and by the time we hit the freeway, it was over. It was strange: when I looked ahead, the sky was clear, but when I turned around, it was all dark clouds behind us.

As we kept going, I noticed the sky slowly getting darker, but I didn’t pay much attention.

We stopped at a mall to withdraw my money, then did some grocery shopping. I treated my sister to a croissant and a tea. I also picked up some sourdough bread—my favorite!

In the evening, I made myself some luxury scrambled eggs: creamy and delicious. I toasted a slice of bread with butter, added cheese slices and avocado on top, and paired it with a cup of milk. It was fantastic.

All in all, today was productive and good.
