I got lost, for real

It's my second day at CEN, and I was late.

It was my bad. I left the bakery a few minutes later than I should have. My class starts at 1:45, and at 1:08 I was still at the station just about to head to the terminal. I got to the terminal at 1:20. I had to take another Metroway to get to the station near CEN, so I could walk five more minutes to get there.

I had timed it yesterday and it was supposed to take 10 minutes — but today, traffic hit. At 1:40, I was still on the metro. I told myself, “I can run.” My station came, I was ready to get out… but the doors didn’t open. I was in the middle section of the metro, and only the back doors opened. The metro was full, so I couldn’t get out in time.

I had to get off at the next station and wait for another train to take me back to my station. But that one didn’t stop on the other side — it didn’t even have doors in that direction.

It was 1:50, and I was running all the way back to my station. It was far. I could have taken a taxi, but I didn’t — there was traffic, so I decided to run. In my desperation and rush, I forgot how to get there and got lost for a few minutes. I asked someone at a restaurant, and once I was back on the right path, I finally got to CEN at 2:00 PM.

I went upstairs to my classroom, but the teacher didn’t let me in because it was 2:02, and the cut-off was exactly 2:00. So I had to wait until 2:45 in a study space. I got an absence on my second day.

I took the opportunity to review the book, do some exercises, and read a little.

And most importantly: to drink water and wait for my face to stop looking red from all the running I did.

Pdta: Odio la metrovía. Pero odio más los buses.
Si se hubieran abierto las puertas, hubiera llegado a tiempo! Porque no me hubiera perdido porque no hubiera estado corriendo apurada/If the doors had opened, I would have arrived on time! I wouldn’t have gotten lost because I wouldn’t have been rushing. But, if i had left the bakery earlier, none of this would have happened. I will keep it in mind.
