The Ice Cream Route

This Carnival, I’ve eaten a lot of ice cream. It’s justified—the weather has been incredibly hot.

  1. It all started when we were just on our way to Chanduy. At the toll booth, where we had to pay $1, there were many vendors selling food, hats, newspapers, water, sweets, and of course, ice cream. My dad bought us two Magnums, $1 each. They were delicious.

  2. Later in Chanduy, I actually turned down an ice cream, thinking, No, too much sugar.

  3. When we said goodbye to our relatives, we bought some ice creams at my aunt’s store. This time, I accepted and got a cone ice cream.

  4. On the way back home, while waiting in line at another toll booth, we spotted a promotion: three mini Galletopsy ice creams for $1. My dad bought them—one for him, one for my mom, and one for my sister and me (since we were sitting in the back)

5. Further down the road, at another toll booth, my dad bought the same promotion again. He was like: When I travel, I never eat ice cream because the weather is cold, so I’m making the most of it now. And we were just happy to get another ice cream, haha.
