The comeback
My dear readers, I apologize for abandoning this lovely space. There are only two reasons: laziness and procrastination. I know—being consistent is a habit, and I will do my best to make up for keeping you waiting so long for a new post. I’m already three weeks behind!
So, let me sum up the week—right before Carnival. The most remarkable thing I did on Saturday was making dorayakis, which I accidentally burned.
February 23rd, 2025
Speaking of Sunday… well, this day was interesting. I woke up at 5:30 to go to La Paul with my dad. The rain was almost stopping when we set off. When we got there, he unloaded the cartons, set up the tent, and laid out the plastic sheets to protect everything in case it rained again.
After a few minutes, it started to rain heavily for about 15 minutes, but we stayed dry. However, we couldn’t sell the jeans because my dad didn’t want to risk them getting wet, so he never took them out of the car or set up the other spot due to the bad weather.
Instead, we arranged all the glassware at our usual spot and managed to sell some items—until it started raining again. My sister’s godfather didn’t show up because my dad had asked him not to, and the Ms. next to our tent didn’t come either.
Around 11 a.m., my dad took over her spot and started selling the shorts. Fortunately, we sold a lot, and we didn’t get wet!
Almost forgot! In the morning, I bought pan de Ambato from a Ms. who always sells it. I chose whole wheat rolls and some filled with cheese. Later, I got a cup of tea because the weather was cloudy.
Ps: We beat the rain.
