The tray fairy
Today, I chose to be promoted.
I went from cutting and tying piping bags to filling them with royal icing. And I say chose because the guy in charge asked, "Who else wants to fill?" And I said: "Me." I was bored of doing the same thing, and my hands had started to hurt so, I wanted to do something different and take advantage of the chance to practice using the piping bag.
The team finished making the piping bags around 10 am
Then, one of the heads bakers told me to help at the cake station.
There are always two women: Jenny and Melanie
When I got there, Melanie was like, "I don't know what to do! Ahhh, wait here until Jenny comes." She was almost freaking out. I like her. She is funny and seems very extroverted.
Later, Jenny, who is calm but firm, told me to unmold an entire cart of cakes. They were cold, having just been taken out of the freezer. There were 120 cakes. I only had to remove the aluminum foil from the botton, as they were baked in circular rings.
Two things to highlight:
1. I had to line up 18 cakes per baking sheet (six first, then parchment paper, then another six, and so on) because there was a shortage of trays - they were being used for a big event for a bank.
2. I had to carry each baking sheet to the freezer. They were heavy, but I made it.
Working as a pastry chef requires strength.
When I finally finished, I had to grease all the rings again. Ahhh, what a bummer!
I covered most of the rings with aluminum foil since, luckily, a girl was helping me (who had previously been part of the piping bag team). I greased a few, but it was 12:17, and my sister was outside waiting for me in the car, so I had to head home.

Pdta: Cada vez que llevaba esa lata llena de bizcochos rezaba para que no se me cayeran al abrir la puerta de la cámara de frío. Esa vaina era pesada, yo una debilucha y Jenny se la ponía en el hombro como si nada.
