The Infinite Eggs
Third and last day of the week (since coming on the weekend is optional - at least for me).
I started the day doing my now expert but still slow task: cracking eggs. I’m no longer afraid of separating egg whites and yolks, but I still do it at a snail’s pace. Today, I separated eggs from 10 cartons.
Then, they had me cut and grind carrots. After that, a bit of walnuts. Later, I greased big and small circle rings. While I was doing this, one of the head chefs told me to go fix my hairnet in the bathroom because I had too many loose hairs—and that’s obviously not okay. I came back with my hair neatly tucked in and the net properly secured.
To wrap up my time, I did something new: unmolding cakes. I think they were negritos or chocolate cakes. Suddenly, the power went out. They connected a few lights and used their phone flashlights to keep working.
Anyway, I tried a bite of one cake (well… really, half of it—I don’t know what happened with that one) that was cracked and had to be thrown away. It was a little bland for me, but that’s probably because it gets filled with something to balance the flavors.
By 12:15, my sister was outside in the car waiting for me. I said goodbye and hasta el lunes!
