Lost in the city

I was in the Metrovía terminal. I asked a security guard which Metrovia I should take to get to CEN, an English institute . He stood there with a serious expression, perfect posture, and a hand gesture that said, Wait. He was holding a gun, and his uniform was different. That's when I realized he wasn't an ordinary guard but part of the security detail escorting the money collected from the Metrovia card machines in an armored truck! Y to tipo: Ah, bye. Such an embarrassing moment.  Then, I spotted the actual-ordinary- security guard and asked again. His response convinced me, so I followed his directions. Later, I bought pan de yuca for lunch. When I got on the Metrovia, I sat next to a man and asked him if this route would take me to the city center. He replied: "I don't know, I am not from around here". He was even more lost than I was! He was relying on Google Maps.

Fortunately - really fortunately - a woman and a younger woman were standing right beside us. The older one, in particular, became our GPS. She told him he had taken the wrong bus.  (I hope he made it to his destination). As for me, both women kindly helped me by telling me where to get off and how far I had to walk to reach CEN. I followed their instructions.

When I got off , I asked the security guard for directions to the street I was looking for. He explained it to me más o menos. I follow that direction. I walked and walked until I stopped to ask a woman in a restaurant. She told me I was close, so I kept going.

I pass by a school and took the opportunity to ask a man where CEN was. He pointed to a big building with some drawings on it and said it was there. I crossed the street, and finally, I made it to CEN. Cheers to me! 😎🎉

Como dicen: Si no sabes, pregunta.

It goes unnoticed from the outside, but once you step inside, the atmosphere feels super high-class. To sump up, I took the placement exam and have to start the program at module 8 out of 18. I need to complete 13 modules to get the B2 certificate.

Later, my mom and sister picked me up. They were glad and relieved that I arrived safe and sound

We got home at 3 pm.

It was a long and challenging day, at least for me. I had to find my way to a place I had no idea how to get to. I may be a little naive, but I am not completely clueless.

Pdta: Utilizo el verbo caminar pero en realidad estaba trotando casi corriendo agarrando mi bolso, mirando lado a lado por si acaso viene algún ladrón o rarito. La clave es "caminar" con confianza y cara de mala 😡
