An unexpected day
This day was great!!!! And really unexpected.
Yesterday, I sent six emails (you know this if you read my previous post), hoping for a reply. And today, one bakery sent me a message via WhatsApp! It was from the head of human resources at CHOKOLAT, a well-known bakery in my city. She told me that there were available internships in the pastry and chocolatería department and that the head chef would like to meet me for an interview. She sent the message at 2:06 PM (yes, specifically at that minute), and obviously, I said, "I confirm my attendance at the interview."
The takeway is:
"It’s not about having ideas; it’s about making them happen." —Scott Belsky
And even though it’s not 100% certain that it will work out, you have to try. No one is going to hand you opportunities to learn out of nowhere.
So, this weekend, I have to prepare and practice using a piping bag and decorating cakes. It’s going to be exciting, right? But one step at a time: First, the interview, and hopefully, they accept me (they will)
On another note, this afternoon, my cousin sent me a catalog from a shoe store and asked me which pair I liked because she wanted to buy them for me. They were on sale, and since they were from a fancy store, I said yes. She asked my sister the same thing, and suddenly, we found ourselves at a shopping mall at 5 PM.
It was an unexpected outing.
The point is, we didn’t end up buying the shoes because they were too small. They didn’t really fit us, and I swear I tried on almost every pair.
The only person who walked out of that store with a beautiful pair of heels was my mom. She came with us, tried on one pair, and bought them (well, my cousin is paying, but anyway).
Later, we returned home after eight taxis said no because it was rush hour and our home was far from the mall. We ended up taking two taxis to get home. And now, I’m writing this post before going to sleep.
I wonder how tomorrow will be! Stay tuned.
Pdta: Un día tranquilo puede tener giros inesperados.
